I Care If You Listen Review for Albany Symphony Festival

Great review for recent Albany Symphony Festival in I Care If You Listen!

Honored to have participated with Michael Hammond, Marco Grosse, Lucy Dhegrae, Nathaniel LaNasa, Christopher Dylan Herbert, and more 🙏

“Joyce’s ethereal vocals, vintage toy organ, and electronic soundscapes created an exquisite expansiveness…other performances also focused on women, particularly Molly Joyce’s YousaidShesaidHesaid, a set of songs that traced the same timeline as Schubert’s song cycle Die Schone Mullerin, but from the perspective of the “girl of the mill” herself. Dhegrae sang the part of the mill girl in Joyce’s dreamy indie-pop songs and showcased her ability to seamlessly move from wispy ethereal to focused power. Between Joyce’s songs, baritone Christopher Dylan Herbert sang the original Schubert with ultimate clarity and intimacy. Though the two distinct styles of music and text occasionally took away from the narrative coherence, the work as a whole was quite effective.”
