for other riders, please click the links above
Technical needs vary depending on venue and program being performed. For most engagements (basic solo voice & electronics concerts), sound reinforcement is required as detailed below. For more technically complex productions (i.e., large-scale, theatrical, multimedia performance works), additional lighting and audio/visual equipment and operators, as well as additional load-in/set-up and tech time, may be required. Technical riders for specific works are available upon request.
Time:
30 minutes for load-in and set-up
45-60 minutes for sound-check and tech
Molly will bring:
Focusrite 6i6 Interface for audio processing + playback
Computer for audio + video playback
KAiKU music glove
MUGIC accelerometer device
MIDI keyboard
Bela instrument device
SM58 mic for vocal amplification
To be provided by venue or presenter:
sound engineer familiar with in-house equipment
stereo PA system with 4 available inputs, two for electronics, two for voice
snake or a pair of cables to reach from the performing area to sound board.
direct boxes (DIs) will be needed if your inputs are XLR (Molly’s outputs are 1/4-inch).
if possible, speakers should be downstage of the performer or angled so that they do not feed back into the performer’s microphone due to heightened feedback issues associated with live processing
adequate monitoring (in some houses, the sound from the mains might suffice) including voice and electronics
grounded AC power on or near the stage, four outlets desired
microphone stand (tripod style preferred) with boom for vocal mic
one music stand
small desk-height table (approx 26″ – 30″ h, with surface area at least 18″ x 36″) for electronic devices and laptop
projector – preferably at least 3000 lumens – and a large, upstage projection surface (such as a cyc or a clean, light-colored wall)
an HDMI cable long enough to reach the projector from Molly’s setup
lighting should be adjusted so the artist is well-lit without casting light onto the video projection
